Bradford, VT
Owner Boo Blodgett, along with forester Andy McGovern, will lead attendees on a tour of the Tree Farm, showing recent work that has been done on the property including areas of Timber Stand Improvement (TSI) thinning, a dam project completed on a pond, and areas of patch cuts that are a part of Blodgett’s management plan. An area of white pine plantation affected by white pine weevils will be viewed, and treatments for the pests will be discussed. The property includes some interesting features that will be a part of the tour such as areas of 100-year-old pines and the site of a former boys’ camp. Attendees will also have the chance to walk through Blodgett’s homestead, which is entirely wind and solar powered. The walk is on mostly flat terrain and will take place rain or shine so proper footwear and apparel are encouraged.
