A Year-End Giving Invitation: Let’s Grow Forest Stewardship in Vermont Together

For 110 years, the Vermont Woodlands Association has helped people care for Vermont’s forests. From our earliest days focused on wildfire prevention to today’s work supporting landowners, stewards, and forestry professionals, our purpose has remained the same: healthy, resilient, and productive forests cared for by people who love them.
As 2025 draws to a close and our 110th Anniversary year comes to an end, we find ourselves looking ahead with purpose. The challenges facing Vermont’s forests continue to evolve, including invasive species, shifting markets, and a changing climate, and the needs of the people who own, work in, and care for these woods are evolving as well. Across the state, we see a growing desire for connection, for learning, and for gaining confidence in the work of stewardship.
That is where VWA shows up.
Through our year-round educational programs, Walks in the Woods, Women & Our Woods, the Vermont Tree Farm Program, and the many resources and hands-on opportunities we provide, we help people learn how to care for their land with confidence. Day by day, steward by steward, this work strengthens Vermont’s forested landscape.
This year’s annual appeal centers on a simple idea:
Growing stewardship in Vermont’s forests, one person, one family, and one program at a time.
It is an idea rooted in our history but anchored firmly in the future. The next century of forest care depends on more people feeling supported, inspired, and prepared to steward their woodlands. Your support makes that possible.
As we close out this milestone year, we invite you to help carry this work forward. Whether you give $55, $110, or set up a recurring monthly gift, your contribution strengthens the programs and resources that help Vermonters become confident and capable woodland stewards.
Together, we can shape the next century of woodland stewardship and ensure that Vermont’s forests remain healthy, resilient, and productive for the generations that will follow.
Thank you for helping us grow woodland stewardship in Vermont.
