Announcement: New Grant Opportunity for Loggers Working in Vermont

The SLoCAMP (Supporting Loggers to Comply with Acceptable Management Practices) Grant Program is launching this summer — and it’s designed to support Vermont's logging contractors working on harvest sites in Vermont. The program provides significant cost share on qualifying pre-harvest site prep, including hardening truck roads and landings, skid trail improvements, and temporary/permanent stream crossings.
To qualify, you must be a logging contractor meeting the following:
- Harvest site is in Vermont, over 10 acres, with a long-term forest management focus.
- You own more than 50% of the equipment used on-site.
- More than 50% of your income comes from timber harvesting.
- You’re in good standing with relevant Vermont agencies (Act 154).
- The land has been under the same ownership for 5+ years.
- You have a contract with the landowner (unless it’s your land).
- Projects must be completed by June 30, 2026.
Applications for this program will open on July 21, 2025.
