The Woods Are Calling: Vermont’s First Open Forest Weekend

There’s nothing quite like October in Vermont’s woods.

And on the weekend of October 3rd and 4th, you have lots of opportunities to get out into the woods here you through the Vermont Tree Farm Program's Vermont Open Forest Weekend! 

The weekend includes eight Vermont Tree Farms across the state opening their woods and inviting you to come for a guided walk. Throughout the weekend, Tree Farmers and forestry professionals will lead walks exploring wildlife habitat, maple sugaring, apple trees, streams, invasive plants, forest management, old forests, and more.

Own woods yourself? Come see what other landowners are doing and take home an idea for your own land. Curious about Vermont’s forests? Come ask questions and meet the people caring for them. Just looking for a great place to take a fall walk? Come for that, too.

You don’t need to know anything about forestry. Bring your questions, your curiosity, or just your walking shoes.

Pre-registration is requested. All walks are free and open to everyone.
