As we close the chapter on 2024, I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates from the Vermont Woodlands Association! This month, we celebrate two significant milestones for our organization.
First, we’ve officially opened our very first VWA office in Montpelier! Located at 36 College Street on the Vermont College of Fine Arts campus, this office will serve as a hub—or a “nest”—for VWA’s work moving forward. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be settling into the space and getting organized. Starting in January, we look forward to welcoming you for a visit—whether to pick up resources, ask questions, or simply say hello.
Our second milestone is the hiring of Susan Culp as our new Operations Manager (see her introduction below). Susan will play a vital role in supporting the organization’s daily operations while assisting our members and the broader community. Her addition to the team marks an exciting step in strengthening VWA’s capacity to foster a culture of sustainable woodland stewardship in Vermont.
Reaching these two milestones at the end of the year is a remarkable achievement and a testament to you—our incredible community of supporters, friends, and partners. Your unwavering dedication and encouragement have been the driving force behind our success. Thank you for standing by us and inspiring our work through the years.
As we celebrate this year’s accomplishments, I invite you to consider making a gift to help us build on this momentum and prepare for an even brighter 2025—VWA’s 110th anniversary!
During this holiday season, as you gather with loved ones, we hope you take time to enjoy the woods—whether through shared stories, peaceful walks, a good book, or moments of quiet reflection.
Wishing you a warm and joyful holiday season!
