Sunday, July 24
1–4 PM
Farm Craft Vermont, 6608 Rt 116, Shelburne
A BioBlitz is a community science effort to record as many species within a designated location and time period as possible. Everyone works together at a BioBlitz—scientists, families, students, teachers, and other community members—to get a snapshot of biodiversity. Smartphones and apps such as iNaturalist and eButterfly make collecting photographs and biodiversity observations relatively easy. During this week Farm Craft VT will join the VAL Monarch Monitoring Blitz. Join for the intro on Sunday and then participants are welcome to come back to work on their counts anytime during the week until the BioBlitz ends on July 31st. This gathering is a great excuse for naturalists, scientists, and curious members of the public to meet in person in the great outdoors and have fun (there will be prizes). This event is free but they ask that you register so they can send you an email explaining the event, how to download the app and join the project, and what to bring. Register at www.farmcraftvt.com!
