This workshop will show loggers how to accurately calculate their annual costs (cost/year and cost/ton) and apply them to specific jobs and harvesting opportunities. The workshop will also show how to calculate productivity as the ratio of output to effort and then use this information to compare weeks, months, years, and individual timber harvests. Loggers and their family members who participate in the business are encouraged to attend. Free mobile apps will be used to make the calculations. Participants should bring their cell phone and a copy of their most recent IRS Schedule C or Form 1120 to use in inputting their own cost information.
For more information email Paul Frederick or call 802-777-5247.
You must cancel 48 hours prior to the workshop to receive a refund. PLEASE NO WALK-INs!
This workshop is co-sponsored by the VT Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation; NE Forests LLC; and the VT Logger Education to Advance Professionalism program (LEAP) and made possible through a Landscape Scale Restoration Grant from the US Forest Service, Eastern Region, State and Private Forestry.
