Join Tom Wessels, renowned terrestrial ecologist and author of Reading the Forested Landscape, for a special virtual event on Wednesday, September 4th, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Discover the hidden stories of our forests, from historical human and animal impacts to natural disturbances. In this interactive session, Tom will reveal how to interpret forest dynamics, tree growth, and species interactions. Learn to “read” the ecological features shaping our landscapes.

 

Reading the Vermont Woods: A Guided Woods Walk & Lunch- Register Now

Join us for a guided walk with Tom Wessels in the NorthWoods Stewardship Center demonstration forest. Learn to interpret ecological features and historical markers to uncover the forest’s rich history. We are offering two, two-hour walks (choose morning and afternoon) and a catered lunch with Tom Wessels in the lodge. Pre-registration is required.
