ANR Atlas & Avenza: How to Create & Use a Georeferenced Map

(8 credits LEAP, 6 credits SAF)

This training will cover the ANR Atlas web-based mapping tool and the Avenza mapping app for mobile phones.

You will use these tools to create a georeferenced map that can be used for planning your next logging job.

We will first learn about the Atlas, how to use it, and how to create a georeferenced map.

Then we will learn how to upload the map to your mobile phone and how to import it to Avenza Maps®.

Once that is done, we’ll head to the field to practice using the map in Avenza and collecting AMP information for planning a logging job.

We will also cover the new FPR cost-share program for loggers known as SLoCAMP (Supporting Loggers Compliance with AMPs).

The morning will consist of class time with the instructors followed by field time in the afternoon further examining the topics of the workshop.

Lunch Included.

Instructors: David Wilcox and Silas Rainville, VT FPR Watershed Program, & Rick Dyer, VTFPR AMP Forester

Cost: $60
