Our Roadmap

A Strategic Vision for Vermont’s Forests (2022–2027)

The Vermont Woodlands Associations 5-Year Strategic Plan serves as more than just a roadmap—it’s an open invitation for collaboration. Together, we can address the challenges facing Vermont’s forests, from climate change to invasive species, while fostering a thriving woodland community committed to stewardship and sustainability.

Our 2022–2027 Strategic Plan outlines four key initiatives designed to advance our mission and ensure a vibrant future for Vermont’s woodlands:

Growing Programs

We are dedicated to creating high-quality, innovative educational programs that meet the evolving needs of Vermont’s woodland community. These programs will engage and inspire members, tree farmers, landowners, professionals, policymakers and the public by addressing diverse topics and challenges in forest stewardship.

Cultivating Community

Our vision includes building a vibrant and connected community of woodland stewards united by their commitment to sustainable forest management. Together, we can share knowledge, foster collaboration and inspire collective action for Vermont’s forests.

Building Organizational Resilience

To remain a leading force in forest conservation and stewardship, we are focused on strengthening our organizational resilience. By growing our capacity and adaptability, we ensure the Vermont Woodlands Association can continue to support forest stewards and advance sustainable forestry in the face of evolving challenges.
