Bird-Friendly Sugarbush Walk

Spring is in the air, and with it the bulk of our forest-breeding birds! Join Fen Levy-O’Malley (Audubon Vermont) and Stephen Peters-Collaer (Vermont Woodlands Association) for a guided bird walk during peak migration at Green Mountain Audubon Center (GMAC), on May 28, 5:30-7:30 PM, with refreshments provided after. Aimed at beginning birders, but all are welcome!

The walk will feature the managed sugarbush, forest demonstration sites, and wetlands that support a diverse host of migrating and breeding forest birds at GMAC. Audubon Vermont has partnered with Vermont Youth Conservation Corps on two recent forest management projects, which will also be highlighted along the way.

Parking is available at the main GMAC lot at 250 Sherman’s Hollow Rd. The walk route is on mostly level terrain, but will include forested trails with roots and rocks, as well as some steps and steep sections. Bring comfortable walking shoes that you don’t mind getting wet!
