Fall VWA Stewardship Gathering: Beaver, Woods Walk & Pizza

Join Vermont Woodlands Association for an evening of learning, conversation, and community at the property of County Forester Mark Raishart.

Woods Walk

Wildlife specialist Tyler Brown of the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department and Mark Raishart, County Forester, will lead a walk to the property’s beaver pond. Along the way, we’ll explore the important role beavers play in forest ecosystems and discuss considerations for managing woodlands around beaver habitat.

Pizza Potluck

After the walk, we’ll gather for wood-fired pizza, conversation, and cupcakes—it’s Mark’s birthday! VWA will provide the pizza. Please bring a topping to share!

What to Expect

The walk will cover mostly flat but uneven—and potentially soggy—terrain. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy, waterproof footwear if conditions warrant.

VWA’s seasonal stewardship gatherings bring woodland owners and friends together across Vermont to meet their neighbors, share local stewardship experiences, and learn from one another.
