Tree to Cutting Board Workshop
Ever wondered where a piece of wood really comes from? Join us for a hands-on day that follows a tree from the woods to your kitchen.
We’ll start with a walk through actively managed woodland, looking how thoughtful management supports biodiversity, improves forest health, and sustains a working forest. From there, we’ll head back into the woods to harvest a tree and use a 35 hp tractor and winch to skid it to a portable sawmill. You’ll watch as the log is milled into boards, gaining a firsthand look at how raw wood becomes usable material.
Participants will create a cutting board from wood harvested on the property.
