Releasing Mast Trees

Join Allen Yale, VT Tree Farmer, and Jared Nunery, Orleans County Forester, as they demonstrate the silvicultural practice of releasing red oaks to promote acorn production to provide food for dear, bear, turkey and other wildlife as they fatten for winter. Other mast producers like cherry and beech will also be covered. Other topics discussed will be habitat management promoting early forest, and management strategies to assist forest adaptation to the rapidly changing climate.
